Togetherness.
Some of us are people who enjoy a crowd, flit from person to person, thrive on the buzz of activity. Some of us are those who enjoy one or two people, intimate conversation. Some of us even borderline savoring as much time alone as we can to think and process. It’s in the diversity, the difference, the uniqueness of each one. For some we draw people out and others we draw them in.
Personality of who we are can be likened to style. You may like modern, cutting edge, up to date clothing. You could be comfy and cozy sweats and sweaters. You could be jeans and hiking boots. You can be formal, casual, sporty. You could be a mix of all of them!
But on the inside, we are the same. We are people who want to be accepted, cherished, liked, and loved. We are people who want to be known and to know others. We want to be heard. We desire to be cared about and affirmed, to have real value.
You do and you are.
Today, this is my prayer for you, taken from Paul in the scriptures:
Ephesians 3:14-21
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
