I JUST WANT PEACE!

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Where are your eyes fixed? Peace is solely dependent on our focus! Jeremiah spent 40 years speaking God’s truth and not one person listened. In fact even his own family disowned him. Yet in the midst of it all he said, “blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:8)

I fail to be this tree when I place my confidence in my abilities and focus on my circumstances instead of Who God is for me! Your focus will either usher in peace or distress. Isaiah 26 gives us a clue of where our minds have to be fixed in order to have peace – on HIM! The message version says it this way: “People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.”

I don’t know about you but I want a little more of that in my life: peace, steady on my feet, wholeness, a sure thing! Aren’t we all looking for that?

If you find your peace is lacking, maybe it is time you re-evaluate where your thoughts are fixed? Are you aligning your thought life with the truth in God’s word or are you allowing the enemy to rob you of peace. He wants you to believe you are worthless, you will never get through this, and you are all alone. God’s voice is entirely different. He sees you as priceless, more than a conqueror, and one with Him! Your thought life and where it is fixed will determine your peace quotient. Focus on you, your circumstances, and all you feel you aren’t = no peace. Focus on Him, His promises, and all you can accomplish because of who He is in you = steady on your feet, wholeness, assurance of a sure thing, and PEACE!

Be Blessed – Be a Light!
